Ben Tuck

Ben began his career with New York Life in the Roanoke General Office in 2012 as an agent.  Ben qualified for Council for four years and is a member of the 2016 Million Dollar Round Table^.

In February 2016 Ben was promoted to Partner in the Roanoke Office.

Ben is a graduate of Radford University with a degree in finance.  Upon graduation he entered the insurance industry with a Property & Casualty Company.  Ben resides in the New River Valley with his wife Angelica and daughter Rosalita.

Spencer Wilson
Development Manager

Spencer began his career with New York Life as an agent.  He reached Executive Council during each of the four years he spent as an agent.  He was promoted to Partner in the Las Vegas General Office in 2014.  In December 2015 he joined the Roanoke General Office as Development Manager.

Spencer holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Mesa Colorado.  He holds a Commercial Pilot's License and was a FAA designated Single and Multi-Engine flight instructor.

Prior to joining New York Life, Spencer ran the Las Vegas office of Decision Control, a marketing firm based in Berkley, California that specializes in business marketing campaign strategies.

Spencer resides in Roanoke with his wife, Julie and their two sons.


Anne Burdette, FLMI, ACS, ARA, AIAA
Administrative Manager 

Anne Burdette began her New York Life  career on June 5, 1989 in the West Virginia General Office as an Office Assistant I.  She was promoted to Office Coordinator in June 2004 then to Administrative Manager in June 2006.  She moved to the Roanoke General Office in March 2016 as the Administrative Manager.

Anne's responsibilities include supervision of 4 employees in an office with 50 agents and 4 management staff.

Anne is married to Roger.  She has two sons Roger and Andrew.  She enjoys spending time with her family and watching the boys play sports.


Perry L. Cox, Director of Agency Standards

Perry joined the Roanoke General Office of New York Life Insurance Company in September 2014 coming most recently from a position as a Senior Compliance Examiner at Ameriprise Financial Services.  Perry is a Virginia Tech alum, and has been in the Financial Services Industry in various roles since 1991.  He served our Country in the U.S. Air Force 22 years.  Perry is also involved in youth soccer, and is currently coaching the U18 Girls Premier Team, out of Blacksburg, VA.  Prior to that he was the head coach for the Girls' Program at Christiansburg High School.

Perry has two children, Kevin and Kady, and resides in Riner with his wife, Karen and family.  He was recently selected to “Who's Who in Executives and Professionals”.


Joseph Baumgartner, Product Consulting-Investments

Joe graduated from the University of Delaware in 2009 where he studied Finance and Economics.  He also played 4 years of ice hockey and was team captain in the 2008/2009 season.  After graduating he worked over the next 3 years as a Financial Advisor with Diamond State Financial Group and then PNC Investments.

Joe has been with New York Life since January 2012.  Since then he has worked with offices in the Northeast, South Central and West Central Zones covering Mutual Funds and Annuities.  In 2013 he had the pleasure of working with Sam Hebert and helping him reach the milestone of Council President.

He is currently in the process of obtaining the CFA designation and has passed the first 2 exams with the 3rd and final exam to go.

Joe currently resides in Charlotte, NC.


Jackie Caldwell-Life Product Consultant

Jackie has been working to protect and grow wealth for clients and their families since 2011.  For the first 2 years of her career with New York Life, Jackie worked as an agent in Greenville, SC.  She worked mostly with young professionals and small business owners.

Jackie's career moved to a sales consultant role in late 2013.  Since then she has been dedicated to training, educating and motivating our financial professionals.  She has spent extensive time working with the top agents at NYL helping them bring their business to the next level.

Jackie designs solutions for the clients of our top Council agents, finds sales opportunities within existing books of business, and uses creativity and accountability to make sure goals are achieved.

Gus Mitchell-Long Term Care Consultant

Gus serves as a Long Term Care Consultant for New York Life, bringing over 20 years of industry experience.  He earned his BA in Business-Marketing from Lynchburg College.  Prior to joining NYL, Gus served as a Vice President-Investment Manager Advisor for Wachovia, as well as Regional Life Consultant and Sales Director for Genworth.

Gus Believes in taking a holistic approach in working with clients.  Through a multi-step process of determining the sepcific goals and objectives of each clinet, Gus develops a customized plan in order to meet the Long Term Care needs, and he monitors the plan on an ongoing basis.

Gus makes his home in Richmond, Virginia with is wife, 2 children, and Parker, the family dog.  Gus enjoys family time, tennis, and reading.
